Lots of Phuket tours go by boat, but they don’t all leave from the same place. Some pier names sound alike, and some tours don’t leave from Phuket at all — they depart from Phang Nga province. Use this page to check where your tour starts.
First: if your tour includes hotel pickup
Most TripRAON tours include hotel pickup, and the driver takes you to the right pier. You don’t need to find it yourself.
But the further the pier, the earlier the pickup. Check the pickup time on the voucher you receive after confirmation. If you’re going to the pier on your own, use the exact names below.

Rassada Pier — know your gate
All ferries and speedboats to Phi Phi, Krabi and Koh Lanta leave from here. The pier is big and has several gates, so it helps to know your operator’s gate:
- Andaman Wave Master ferry: Gate 3, Andaman Wave counter
- Andaman Wave Master speedboat: Gate 1, Counter 3
- Phi Phi Cruiser: Gate 2, Counter 10

Names that are easy to mix up
- Rassada Pier is not the Sea Star pier. The Sea Star pier (AA Marina, Laem Nga) is in the same Rassada district, but it’s a different place from the ferry pier. If you only say “Rassada” to a taxi driver, you may end up at the wrong one. For Sea Star tours, say “Seastar, Laem Nga”.
- Royal Phuket Marina is not Ao Po. Both are marinas on the east coast, but they are different places.
- Yona Beach Club changes its check-in point by season: Patong from 16 November to 4 April, Royal Phuket Marina from 5 April to 15 November.
Chalong Pier — online check-in before boarding
Every passenger on a tour from Chalong Pier must register online on the pier’s official website before boarding. You need a booking number — TripRAON sends it with your confirmation and voucher. See our Chalong Pier online check-in guide for the 8 steps.
Phang Nga piers — the Similans and Surin don’t leave from Phuket
- Thap Lamu Pier: Similan tours (and the Sawanu Surin tour). About 1.5 hours by road from Phuket Town.
- Ban Nam Khem Pier: Sea Star Surin tours. About 2 hours by road from Phuket Town.

My tour includes hotel pickup. Do I still need to know the pier?
Not really. But the distance to the pier explains most early pickups and late returns.
Are Rassada Pier and the Sea Star pier the same place?
No. Both are in the Rassada area, but they are different piers. For Sea Star tours, go to “Seastar, Laem Nga”.
Can I join a Similan or Surin tour from a Phuket pier?
All Similan and Surin tours sold by TripRAON leave from Thap Lamu or Ban Nam Khem Pier in Phang Nga.
