Before flying to Phuket, every foreign traveller has to submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online. It replaced the old paper arrival card (TM6). It is free and takes about 10 minutes.
Quick answer
- Who: all foreign nationals entering Thailand by air, land or sea — including visa-exempt travellers and children.
- When: within 3 days before your arrival (the arrival day counts). Earlier dates are not accepted.
- Where: only on the official website tdac.immigration.go.th — it is free. Sites that charge a “TDAC fee” are not official.
- Languages: the official form is available in English, Japanese, Russian, Chinese and Korean.
- Every entry: you need a new TDAC each time you enter Thailand, including after a side trip to another country.
What to prepare
- Passport (name, passport number, nationality, date of birth)
- Flight number of the flight that lands in Thailand, and your arrival date
- Your first accommodation in Thailand (hotel name and address)
- Phone number and email address
- Countries you visited in the last 2 weeks (for the health declaration)
Step by step
- Open the official site — go to tdac.immigration.go.th and choose your language at the top right. Tap Arrival Card.
- Personal Information — enter Family Name, First Name (and Middle Name if you have one) exactly as in your passport, then Passport No., Nationality/Citizenship, Date of Birth, Occupation, Gender, Visa No. (leave empty if you don’t have a visa), Country/Territory of Residence, City/State of Residence and Phone No. Tap Continue. Travelling as a family? You can add other travellers in the same application.
- Trip & Accommodation Information — arrival date, how you arrive (flight number), the country where you boarded, purpose of travel, and the address of where you will stay. For a Phuket hotel, choose Phuket as the province.
- Health Declaration — select the countries you visited in the last 2 weeks and answer the questions.
- Check and submit — review everything and submit. Your TDAC (with a QR code) is shown on screen and sent to your email. Save it on your phone; you may be asked to show it at immigration.
Good to know
- Mistakes: use Update Arrival Card to change travel details. Your name, passport number, nationality and date of birth cannot be changed — submit a new card instead.
- Transit: passengers who connect without passing through immigration do not need a TDAC.
- New passport? Submit a new TDAC with the new passport number.
