Phuket looks small on a map, but a day here goes fast. Hills, one-lane roads and afternoon traffic mean the order of your stops matters more than the number of them.
Below are five day plans we use most with our guests. Each one starts from your hotel, keeps the driving sensible and ends with something worth staying out for. Pick one as it is, or change a stop or two.

At a glance
| If you are… | Try this plan | Starts around |
|---|---|---|
| Visiting Phuket for the first time | Phuket Highlights | 9:00 |
| Travelling with kids | Family Day with Kids | 9:30 |
| Into cafés and old streets | Old Town Charm & Cafés | 10:00 |
| On a couple’s trip | Couple’s Sunset Date | 13:00 |
| Watching the rain outside | Rainy Day Indoors | 10:00 |
1. Phuket Highlights — for a first visit
Big Buddha → Wat Chalong → Karon Viewpoint → Let’s Relax Karon → Promthep Cape → Rimlay Seafood
The classic loop of the south. Start early at Big Buddha, before the hilltop gets hot, then Wat Chalong, Phuket’s best-known temple. Karon Viewpoint gives you three bays in one photo. A massage in the afternoon fills the hottest hours, then Promthep Cape for sunset and seafood to finish.
- Wear something that covers shoulders and knees for the two temples.

2. Family Day with Kids
Andamanda water park → Tiger Kingdom → Phuket FantaSea (evening show)
Three big stops and no long walks between them. Splash in the morning, see the tigers after lunch, then the FantaSea show in the evening. It is a full day, so plan an easy morning for the next day.
- Tiger encounters include transport. If you add two or more stops, the planner switches you to a private vehicle.

3. Old Town Charm & Cafés
A Pong Mae Sunee → Phuket Old Town → WeCafe Chaofa → Raya Restaurant → Let’s Relax Boat Lagoon → Naka Weekend Market
A slow day of colourful shophouses, roti for breakfast and a long lunch of Phuket dishes at Raya. Finish at Naka Weekend Market. As the name says, it runs on weekends only, so on a weekday swap it for a dinner stop.

4. Couple’s Sunset Date
Nai Harn Beach → Coming Home Cafe & Seascape → Let’s Relax The SIS Kata → Promthep Cape → Rimlay Seafood
A late start: quiet Nai Harn Beach, a sea-view café, a massage, then the sunset at Promthep Cape. Get there a little early, because the best spots on the rocks fill up.

5. Rainy Day Indoors
Aquaria Phuket → Suay Restaurant → Dolphin Bay → Let’s Relax Boat Lagoon
An aquarium, a long lunch, the dolphin show and a massage, with a roof over almost all of it. Keep this one in your pocket for the wetter months.

Build your own in one line
None of these fit? Open the Phuket itinerary planner and describe your day the way you would tell a friend, or tap one of the example lines under the box. For example:
“Couple · Old Town cafes & night market · seafood dinner”
Tap Build my day. The planner picks the stops, puts them in order and draws the map and timetable. With that line, and our hotel in Patong as the start point, it gave us lunch and a café in Old Town, a stroll through the old streets, a night market and a seafood dinner by the sea, then the drive back to the hotel. You can then add, remove or move stops. Paid attractions and spas go into your total. Beaches and viewpoints are free, and cafés and restaurants are marked “Pay on site”: you usually just walk in and pay there.

TripRAON tip
Plan the day backwards from the one thing with a fixed time: a sunset, a show or a flight. Put that last, then fill the morning. A private car for 5, 8 or 10 hours is usually easier than taxis between every stop. If the day runs long, overtime is paid to the driver on the day for each started hour (even one minute over counts as an hour), so if you think you’ll need longer, add an hour online before you go.
Before you go
- Times in the planner are calculated from your hotel. Choose where you are staying and type your hotel name so the driver knows where to pick you up.
- Places that are closed on your date are removed automatically. Check the planner again if you change the date.
- Flying out the same day? Add your check-out time and flight time. The planner keeps the day short enough to reach the airport two hours before your flight.
- If your plan includes a restaurant we book for you, copy the itinerary and send it to us on chat with your date.
- Don’t put names or phone numbers into the one-line box.
FAQ
Can I really see Phuket in one day?
You can see one part of it well. The island is bigger than it looks, so pick one area: the south (Big Buddha, Promthep), the west beaches or Old Town. Don’t try to cover all of them.
Do I need a private car?
Many stops on these plans are hard to reach by public transport, so the planner suggests a private vehicle. You can also book attractions only and travel on your own.
What if the planner doesn’t understand my sentence?
It will show three quick questions (who you are travelling with, how much time you have, what you like) and suggest a plan from your answers. You can also message us: we take messages 24 hours and reply daily 08:30–22:00 (Thailand time) on WhatsApp, LINE or KakaoTalk.
